Parade Day!!!!! (Take 2)

Yesterday was a fantastic day. Mainly because I got to stay up later than normal, but also because of this thing called a parade. Mommy and daddy did not have anyone to babysit me (which sounds rather scary; I don't every want to be sit on), so they put me in my carriage to go for a walk. Mommy had on nice white pants with a dark blue shirt that said "Crystal Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary." Daddy was in something called a fireman's dress uniform. It was dark blue with shiny buttons on it. He had on white gloves and a funny hat that had a shiny pin on the front of it. I wanted to play with the shiny buttons but daddy wouldn’t pick me up. He said he didn’t want me to spit up on him. Like I do it on purpose, silly daddy. Mommy tried to make me look like her and daddy. She put me in a white shirt with dark blue pants. We all matched. I was so proud.

We walked a few blocks and stood on the side of the road where there were others dressed like mommy and daddy. There were also these big red trucks that were exciting to look at. Daddy pushed me over to the one that he said was his and the guy inside flipped a switch and all of these lights came on! It was amazing. I sat there in my carriage in awe of all the spinning lights. Perhaps someday I can be the guy who turns the lights on. It’s the best job in the world!

Not long after that, another truck (which daddy said was the truck of the next town over) turned on its lights too! The man in that truck also made it make a loud screechy noise and blew some horns. It was scary. I started to cry so mommy came and picked me up. All of the guys dressed like daddy started yelling at the truck and it stopped. I didn't want to be put back into my carriage though, so mommy carried me.

Daddy's fire truck pulled out onto the road with lots of others. Daddy and the guys like him walked out and stood in two lines in front of it. Daddy lined up behind the flag. Mommy and I walked out in front of them with other ladies. I don’t know why we were in the road with these big trucks behind us. Mommy always says that we have to stay on the sidewalk so we don’t get run over. We all then walked down the street and people were cheering and waving. Maybe it was the people who warned all the trucks not to run us over. Some of the men that look like my great grampa stood up tall and straight with either their right hand on their chest or over their eyes. They looked like statues as we walked by. I wonder why they do that.

As we walked further down the road, I saw my grampa and he took my picture. There were lots of people waving at me and taking my picture. I wonder if all babies like me get a parade in their honor. It sure was fun being out in front of everyone. Having them looking at me and getting dressed up for me was great fun. I think I shall have a parade every year.

Soon, we reached the house where the trucks live. When we got there, there was a big tent with things called rides and games. There were lots of people eating and talking, and even people a little bigger than me running around playing. Mommy and daddy went to this table and ordered something called clams. I don't know what they are but they stink! They look like rocks that have cracked open to reveal rubber things inside. Mommy and daddy ate them all and I tried to push them away when they kissed me. Yucky smelly things!

We then went to a place that smelled like great gramma's kitchen. Mommy got something called fried dough. It looked like a stick but had white specks all over it. When mommy ate it, she didn't stink anymore. I wanted some, but she said I was too little. Next year I can have some. I guess that means I will have a parade next year! Yay!!!

I wanted to go on the rides. They looked like so much fun! Mommy said I was too small to go on them. Next year, when I get to go again, I’ll be able to walk by myself and then I can go on. I hope next year comes soon because I’ve never had a next year yet. What is a next year I wonder?

I got to play a game though. Daddy walked me over to this small tubby with ducks like at home in it. Daddy said I could grab one. He put me close to the pond and I tried to grab my favorite but it kept going around in a loop. I finally was able to get it after several tries. I wanted to put it into my mouth, but a strange man took it from me, looked at its bottom, and threw it back into the tubby. How rude! He soon came back with a balloon for me. I like balloons. I hit them and they bounce off daddy’s face.

There were other games where people were throwing sharp things at balloons. Some of the sharp things broke the balloons and they made loud “pops”. They were excited when they broke, but it scared me. I don’t think I’ll play that game, balloons are too nice.

All this fun made me very tired and mommy could see it in my eyes. She said something to daddy and he put me back into my carriage and we started to walk home.
This day was a great day. I’ve learned so much today. I know there is so much more to this world and I want to know it all, but as for now, I can’t wait for my next parade!

The worst night ever!

Last night was an absolutely terrible night. Mommy was freezing the milk she normally gives me because I'm spending the day with gramma again tomorrow as my parents are going to something called a wedding. They say this wedding happens in a place called Lancaster, wherever that is. Anyway, instead of my normal milk then cereal and fruit, I was given something called formula. It wasn't very good. It looked like my normal milk, but it tasted very watery. After that I ate my cereal and fruit.

After I went to bed, I started to fell sick inside. I remember mommy and daddy in my room really late at night as they were giving me a wash cloth bath in my room. I felt really sticky and I smelled like peaches and icky stuff. Daddy changed me into new pajamas and mommy changed my bed.

I went back to sleep quite easily, but the soft bumper around my crib was gone. Later in the night, my legs got stuck in my bed's wall and I couldn't turn over. I cried loudly because I was frustrated, so mommy came and picked me up and rocked me. Daddy set up my bed I use at gramma's house and mommy put me in that.

I slept fine after that, but mommy said it was almost noon when I woke up, whatever noon is. I was very hungry though so mommy gave me my lunch meal with my cereal. I like sleeping late.

First night at Gramma's

Last night, mommy and daddy went to something called a firemen's picnic so I got to spend the night with gramma and grampa. You know, they kind of look like my daddy in a weird way only more wrinkley. The big brown furry creature came with me to their house. I think he is a body guard of some type. He always watches carefully when someone new is holding me and whenever there is a strange noise, he makes a loud yell and runs to find it. When he comes back the strange noise is gone. I wonder if he eats it? Oh well.

Gramma and grampa have a small furry thing. He doesn't look like the big brown one but he walks on four legs like mine and he yells like mine and he likes to lick my face too. I wonder if they are friends. Whenever we go there, the two of them slap each other with their front feet, give each other kisses...but never on the face, and roll around on the floor. Gramma always tells them to calm down and relax. I find it interesting that they don't listen. I hope I get that trait someday.

I was sad when mommy and daddy left, but it was ok because there was a lot of new things to see and explore. When it came for sleepy time, my bed was in their house! It was like magic! The room where I went to sleep didn't have a spinner on the ceiling, but there was one in the hole that looked outside. It was louder than what I was used to, but it still made me cool, which was nice. When I awoke, mommy and daddy where there eating and asked if I was ready to go home. I said yes and daddy made googoo noises at me. I think we are going to have to get him some help. He's crazy and doesn't speak too well.

Funny talking people

Today, daddy didn't have to go to the work place. Yay! more time to study him! I do have to say this about the work place though...there is a lot of food there! I could eat everything in there. Daddy said he had to make the fishies look nice in the case 'cuz the Wegman's family was coming for a visit. I wonder who they are and why the fishies need to look nice for them? Oh well.

Daddy introduced me to a game that he was watching on the big light box in our living room. The objective of the game is to swing a stick at a ball and hit it. I can do that! I hit things all the time. I like watching this game. Daddy said they are playing in a far off land on the other side of the ocean. I had my feet in the ocean not too long ago and it was big, so he must not be kidding. The people on the light box sound funny though. They say the same words as mommy and daddy, but with a different pronunciation. They must be a different kind of animal.

Daddy said I should be good at this game when I get bigger 'cuz I was born on December 30th which is the same day as some Tiger in the Woods. Aren't all Tigers found in the Woods? And I hope I'm good at it. If there are Tigers in the Woods, I'm going to need lots of sticks to hit them with!

Blah Day!

Today, mommy got me from my bed. The spinner on the ceiling was not moving when I woke up, but it was still cool. I wonder why that is. So much to learn!

Daddy was still in the big bed. Mommy said we must stay quiet because he was still tired from yesterday's work and that he had to go back today too. I don't know if I like this work thing. I want to spend time with daddy and work takes him away from me.

Mommy fed me what she calls "rice cereal." It's pretty good, but no where near as good as the banana things I sometimes get. They are the best! Something inside me today didn't seem to be right today though. Daddy was back when I finished my rice cereal and he played with me in the Baby Einstein thing again. I think he knew something wasn't right with me. He kept asking if I was ok after I spit up most of my breakfast. I don't think he speaks my language though. I tried to tell him that my belly hurts but he kept talking gibberish back at me. He may be funny, but I don't think he's too bright.

Mommy on the other hand, she must be the leader of this place. When she talks, daddy always goes places and brings her back stuff. I hope I can become leader some day. She knew that I was getting tired. She said something to daddy and he picked me up and took me to my sleeping place. Maybe she can read minds and shes helping me to become the leader. That would be nice.

July 14th: Short time with this "daddy" person

Awoke from the dream place today to see that the spinner on the ceiling was still moving. It's refreshingly cool when it is moving. I like it. What an amazing device. I'm starting to realize that by making noises with my mouth and moving my body around I can get the mommy or daddy person to come. They are both fun. They make me happy.

Today, the mommy came. She took me to another room with another spinner! It was cool in there too. The mommy and daddy have a big soft thing to lay on like I do, but they don't have bars on theirs. Maybe there is a way to take them off. I will have to work on that.

The big brown furry creature was there too. I like him. He licks my face and hands, and I can pull the floppy things on his head and it makes me smile. Today while mommy was taking away the wet thing from around my bottom, the brown furry creature licked my face and I giggled.

The daddy person took me to the bottom level of this place I have been staying and I helped him let the furry one leave for a short time. I watched as he seemed to use his nose to search for something, but instead of bringing something back, he left something there. He is an interesting creature and I will have to study him a bit more.

I then watched as daddy put small crispy like objects into a container, pour the white liquid into it (which is all too similar to what I eat), and then eat them both together. There was a crunchy noise coming from him as his face moved, but no words came out. Quite queer as I think back upon it. Maybe this one little white thing I have in my mouth will explode into more like his and mommy's and I will make crunchy noises too soon.

I was then placed into this seated device that the big ones call "Baby Einstein". I will have to find out who this person is. He or she must have been intelligent because this is a great device. No matter which way I spin myself around there is some new item to explore and play with. Today I used the item that make noises when you push on it. Daddy said something about cows and ducks and lions. I like the ducks but the lions are scary. I try not to push them too much.

Daddy sat on the floor and watched me explore. A few times he put his lips on my face and head and smiled at me. He seems like a nice person. He makes me laugh a lot. I think I will keep him.

Not too long after, the mommy person came into the room with me and "daddy." She was wearing what they use to dry me after my tubby around her and even one on her head! I don't get one on my head. I wonder why? I'm sure I will find out someday. For now, more exploring.

The next time "mommy" came back, the drying things were gone and she took me out of Baby Einstein. Daddy took me from her and squeezed me. It was very warm and comfortable, so to show him thanks, I grabbed his nose and tried to put my mouth on it. He gave me back to "mommy" and then put his lips on hers and went to the outside place. "Mommy" said something about work and money and nice things. I don't know what they are yet either, but I will find out.
